Les Terrasses d'Agafay was born in 2020 from a simple idea: that the finest hospitality, at its most honest, is space. Space to breathe, to hear the wind cross the stones, to watch the light fall differently than anywhere else.
Every detail of the camp, from the Berber carpets underfoot to the hand-fired dishes at dinner, was chosen to belong to this landscape, not to dominate it. We work with local artisans, source almost everything within an hour's drive, and leave as light a footprint as we can. And to foster focus and connection, the camp stays small on purpose.
A singular setting.
The Agafay is a stone desert, with no dunes, just endless horizons of pale rock under an enormous sky. The Atlas rises to the east, snow-capped in winter. It is the closest untouched wilderness to Marrakech, and the quietest.
Fifty-two tents.
Each one a private sanctuary, spacious, softly lit, with linen beds and an en-suite bathroom. A terrace opens onto the desert. Step outside at night and the silence is only broken by distant fires and nearer stars.
A kitchen that reads the land.
Our chef cooks with what the region gives, including olives, lamb, citrus, figs, and honey from the Atlas foothills. Long lunches on the terrace, tasting menus under the stars. Moroccan tradition, handled lightly.
Two pools.
Two heated pools, both facing the Atlas. A quiet pool on the camp's high terrace, and a larger one beside the restaurant. Available to overnight guests, and on weekdays to day-pass visitors who want to trade the city for an afternoon of silence and water.
A team who knows your name.
Fifty-eight people who live locally and have built this camp guest by guest. They remember how you take your coffee, which book you were reading, the way you wanted the light at dinner. It is the quiet attentiveness that matters most.

Forty-five minutes
from Marrakech.
The drive out is part of the experience. City traffic gives way to olive groves, then to the first stones of the desert, then to nothing but horizon. By the time you arrive, you have already begun to let go.
A private shuttle can pick you up from Marrakech Menara Airport or from your riad in the medina. The road is well-paved the whole way, and we can arrange a 4×4 if you prefer the slow route.
